melting into the next.
Relentless energy suspended, as
the unwanted stain you bled onto this heart.
Like a sea of scattered tears,
it's stained on forever.

February, a declaration of hearts united,
held tight in manacles; yet,
love is absent as a forgotten syllable,
painlessly left behind.

With new snow comes remembrance,
of the pounding in my chest,
damp palms, a dizzy mind, and
feverishly spoken words with mixed gestures.
Warmth in company, cold in solitude.
Each cloud-covered sunrise mocks insanely
of that love long lost.
